- How many photographs does a Boatmere listing carry?
- At least five distinct photographs of the actual hull, verified at intake. A vessel with fewer does not go live. That rules out listings built from a single flattering frame, and it rules out photographs of a sister ship presented as the boat you would be buying.
- How does boat registration differ between states?
- Every state registers vessels through its own agency, and renewal periods, fee tiers by length and titling thresholds all differ. Coastal states may also require documentation with the US Coast Guard for larger hulls. Our state guides itemise the exact filings for each of the top boating states.
- Should I buy or charter first?
- If you expect fewer than roughly twenty days aboard a year, chartering is usually cheaper than ownership once berthing, crew, insurance and a maintenance reserve are counted. Our cost tables show the crossover point for both coastal and inland ownership.
- What is included in a verified listing?
- A verified listing includes title chain status, an engine-hour record, service history where available, a haul-out or in-water condition note, at least five photographs of the hull, and the option to commission an independent third-party survey before closing.
